The work that HALOW (Birmingham) undertakes is aimed at maintaining good family ties which in turn should help prevent reoffending. HALOW (Birmingham) is a well-established, medium sized charity with a clear focus and a long-serving team of paid staff and volunteers. Income last year was close to £400k, most of it coming from the Prison Service, with additional support from private donors, charitable trusts and revenue from some of its tea bars.
